Wednesday, 5/25/2005 – We left in the morning and drove from Las Vegas to North rim of the Grand Canyon. Pretty bleak in the Northwest corner of Arizona, called the Arizona Strip:
Inside the park, approaching the lodge, there was quite a bit of snow on the ground:
Quite a change in lodgings from a comfortable new room in Vegas to a simple cabin built in the 30's. As you can see, we did however have electricity and indoor plumbing:
The weather was much cooler. Here's a few shots of the lodge on the North Rim. This and the cabins are the only signs of human presence here, unlike the South Rim.
